Bonnie A. Harken, Nautilus' President, was recently honored with the 2011 American Planning Association NY Metro Chapter Floyd Lapp Award for service to the New York Metro Chapter. She was selected by the Chapter President for her excellent work as Co-Chair of the APA's Waterfront Committee for over the last 10 years. 2010-2011 American Planning Association, NY Metro Chapter APA’s Representative on the Advisory Group to NYC’s Department of City Planning’s for Vision 2020: New York City Comprehensive Waterfront Plan and revisions to the Waterfront Revitalization Program (WRP). Chair of the chapter’s cross-committee Task Force on the comprehensive plan. 2009 United Nations Association of the United States of America Expert Speaker on the impact of climate change on sustainable urban waterfront development at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference on Year of Change: New Prospects for America at the United Nations. 2006 American Planning Association, National Chapter Presidents Council Overall Achievement Award to New York Metro Chapter with special mention of the work and interdisciplinary collaborations of the Waterfront Committee, co-chaired by Bonnie Harken. 2005 United Nations, Division for Sustainable Development UN Expert on sustainable urban waterfront development at the Symposium on Integrated Implementation of Sustainable Development goals held in Nanchang, China. 2003 National American Institute of Architects Honors Award for Collaborative Achievement New York New Visions, a coalition of planning and architectural professionals that Harken helped found, was honored with the profession’s highest recognition. This coalition came together in the aftermath of September 11 and influenced the rebuilding of Lower Manhattan. 2002 & 2003 American Planning Association, New York Metro Chapter Meritorious Achievement Award & Leadership in City and Regional Planning For leadership of the Chapter’s participation of 75+ planners in the influential New York New Visions coalition for two years. 2002 American Planning Association, New York Metro Chapter Floyd Lapp Award For Harken's "meritorious" service to the Chapter and profession in the aftermath of 9/11. 2002 Shanghai North Bund Developing Leading Group 1st Place in International Competition For the North Bund Waterfront Area Planning and Design (as part of HLW International LLP team).
